Meet the "Earl of Slow"....
"I don’t do anything too quickly, but I get
quite a bit done and some good things happen around me."
The world has speeded up and is continuing to
accelerate towards some climax, it would appear. But to rush at things is just a
way of avoiding life and everything that’s worthwhile. It is not necessary to
go mad because others are doing so.
By abandoning perfectionism, you discover the
ground under your feet and start to become a worry free zone.
"The Earl of Slow" will stop you in your tracks so
you can catch your breath again. Then he’ll have a look at your patterns and
interactions through the day. Can you respond differently, to each person and
event as you encounter them? He may even go on a slow excursion with you, to monitor
your progress.
John has moved ahead by gradual
degrees:
- Fifteen years under the mentorship of Australian mystic poet Francis
Brabazon, where he learnt amongst other things, to shift soil from heap to
barrow, without wasting energy;
- Bachelor of Arts from Queensland University, majoring in Studies in
Religions and History
- Diploma in Transpersonal Psychology from the ‘Community of Living Water’,
Lawson NSW
- Has always been self employed
- Home schooled his two daughters
- Holds a Real Estate portfolio, steadily acquired, which includes a slow rural retreat with
slow horses next to miles of deep slow forest; available for refugees from
‘Fast’
- Organises for clients small group evenings around various themes with
music, poetry, dance wine and talk.
